Situated very close to the ferry port at Dunkerque this hotel is ideal as an overnight rest before/after a long journey across Europe. Although basic it is clean and comfortable. The restaurant provides very good food at reasonable prices and the usual Campanile buffet is sure to please
Although all rooms are non-smoking there is a heavy smell of tobacco smoke everywhere
Helpful friendly staff Lvely restaurant
Hotel room facilities vry basic
It is handily placed for the cross channel ferry and once yuo've got there you don't have to go out again.
Despite booking 4 weeks in advance we were allocated a room which had been adapted (badly) as a disabled room. The only flat surface was in a corner next to the bes and was overful with hospitality tray, kettle, phone, TV remote and assorted paraphernalia. This left just one chair seat and the floor to put luggage and other belongings down. When you're in your seventies the floor seems a long way off when fumbling for a clean pair of socks There used to be a residents' lounge/bar in the reception area but this has now been removed so there are no comfy chairs anywhere to relax in. Dinner was busy and,as usual, this seemed to take the management by surprise and no extra staff were brought in making service very slow. The main course was poor, and we had to wait nearly half an hour to have the table cleared, and the sameagain after dessert and coffee.
Convenient for Car Ferry - Dunkirk - Dover
We stayed over at this hotel having driven right up from Burgundy on the Saturday, prior to catching the ferry on the Sunday. It was very convenient for this purpose.
Over 5 euros for a 50cl glass of Heineken lager at the bar!
Clean hotel and very close to the port.
We did not arrive at the hotel until 23.30hrs. The website advertised that reception was only open until 23.00hrs. However a door had been left open for us and our room keys had been left at reception, so great service
It was a pity that no one e-mailed or telephoned me to tell me what arrangements had been made for checking in. Therefore I had an anxious 15 minutes outside in the car park wondering if I was going to have to spend the night in my car. Until I discovered the door that had been left open
The staff have always been very nice.I Use this hotel 4or5 times a year as a stop over for my motorcycle tours of europe.(Excel Motorcycle tours ltd)They have refurbished the hotel this year and it has been done very well. The evening food and breakfast are also very good.I Would recommend this hotel to anyone.
It was clean, fresh, the staff were helpful, (although limited English skills).
Unfortunately the AirCon was out of action during our stay and it was very hot.
Very close to port and very clean and friendly.
The hotel is very coveniently situated for overnight stay when you next morning are going with the ferry to Dover.
We were a group of 11 people I 3 cars, even with gps we were not able to drive directly to the hotel. Being close by, some better signs could have been of good help.
Quality of the room and food. Helpful staff. The hotel is run very efficiently and the buffets were replenished frequently during busy periods.
Not a personal problem, more a comment. I imagine it would be difficult for some people to carry heavy luggage up 2 flights of stairs to rooms on the 2nd floor. The grade and quality of the hotel warrants the installation of a lift.
Simple and efficient; value for money. Like the buffet for dinner and breakfast.
Booked the Hotel as an overnight stop prior to a morning departure from Dunkerque by ferry. It fit the bill nicely, was reasonably priced and is located very close to the ferry terminal. We ate at the Hotel and the food, whilst reasonably priced, was very average. Staff were friendly enough.
A bit quiet and expensive in House Beers and Food but overall a very pleasant stay with friendly staff,Plenty of parking and close to motorway without the noise, definately stay again.
Lime Green bedroom furniture, Coffee at £3.50 per small cup and very limited buffet breakfast at £8.00 were the only very minir downsides.
